Vata Dosha
If you’ve arrived here after completing our Dosha Quiz, chances are your dominant dosha is Vata.
In this journal, we’ll dive into the key characteristics of the Vata constitution, explore helpful practices and common pitfalls, and share our recommended Sattva Soul products to support greater balance and harmony in your system.
The Creative
AIR (WIND) + ETHER (SPACE)
Vata Doshas are typically physically light in frame with lots of energy but can be pulsed with sudden periods of fatigue. You can also be prone to dry skin and hair, paired with cold hands and feet, due to poor circulation. When imbalanced, your Vata body type can also manifest in sudden weight loss, weakness, hypertension, and restlessness.
Mentally, Vatas are amazingly creative, artistic people with imaginative ideas that can change direction as often as the wind. Since Vata is the combination of elements of Air and Space, your mind is often overstimulated, to the point of having too many ideas and thoughts in your head. When it comes to executing plans, you usually have trouble taking action because of general overthinking. You are usually open and tolerant of others. Still, you have an underlying sensitive nature and can retreat when you’re anxious or emotionally insecure.
With your restless mind and sensitive temperament, you may often suffer from light, disturbed sleep, or even insomnia. It is also common for Vata’s to have erratic appetites and irregular digestion that is easily disturbed. Vata Mind/Body energy is often enthusiastic, inspiring, and creative’s who make excellent artists or healers.
"I stay grounded, no matter the direction or force of the wind."
